Bravo to Sarah Gemba and Spain Savvy for creating a wonderful experience for us in Spain. Sarah was very attentive to our particular interests and based on one pre-trip conversation and a few emails, she curated a fantastic itinerary for us. Her hotel and restaurant recommendations were spot on, and the pace of the excursions we went on was just right for our short time (nine days) there. It was the perfect pace of sightseeing and having some down time to experience the culture. We even had time to take a cooking class. We are already planning a trip to Portugal next year and will definitely have Sarah coordinate our time there as well as a possible return to Spain!

Sarah was an absolute dream to work with. She planned an amazing 2 week trip for my friend and I in Barcelona, Mallorca and San Sebastian. She arranged all our flights and hotels for us, and even helped with last minute changes to extend my trip. She is extremely well organized and sends detailed itineraries for each location we were in with recommendations for restaurants, excursions, sites and other places and activities not to be missed. She checked in with us in each location to make sure all travel, hotel and rental car arrangements went smoothly. She even helped us fix a parking ticket along the way! She is very quick to respond and so easy to work with. Her dedication to her clients is absolutely remarkable. I can’t recommend Sarah enough for your next trip to Spain. And when I get back there some day, she will be the first person I reach out to to!

Sarah helped make our 10 day trip to Spain a great success and very memorable. Sarah is a wealth of information: her guidance, suggestions and expertise helped us create the trip of a lifetime. Sarah is very responsive, understanding and very accommodating. Sarah booked all of our reservations in advance, which was a huge time saver. We encountered extremely long lines at all of the major sights. Thanks to Sarah, we were able to skip the long lines and walk right in to each location. In addition to creating our itinerary, Sarah delivered the most personal touch, when she offered to meet us in Seville and show us around! We spent an enjoyable afternoon with Sarah and her children, and was able to explore Seville from a local’s perspective. That afternoon was by far the highlight of our trip! Moreover, every restaurant that Sarah suggested was delicious- definitely stick with Sarah’s recommendations, she won’t steer you wrong. We highly recommend Sarah as a travel agent, she will help make your vacation all that you want it to be.

I had the pleasure of working with Sarah Gemba on a group trip to Spain and Portugal for Princeton University. Sarah was highly engaged with our trip organizers and worked closely with us from the start. She was an integral parting of the trip planning process and her deep knowledge of the destinations she offers helped us greatly in designing an excellent program for our students and faculty. Sarah is knowledgeable, professional and responsive. She knows how to create an intriguing group program and provide a seamless travel experience. She responds quickly to situations that occur during the trip and she is adept at fixing things that need fixing along the way. I look forward to working with her again on our group programs.

My boyfriend and I wanted to do an affordable but awesome European vacation and landed on going to Spain. We were on the fence about using a travel agent at all, but a friend referred us to Sarah, and promised us our trip wouldn’t be as good if we didn’t work with her. We knew our friend was right from our first contact with Sarah! She asked us what our interests were, what our budget was, how adventurous we wanted to be on this trip, and in record time sent us back suggested activities and day trips based on our conversation. Her suggestions were spot on and absolutely no further planning was required. Sarah handled EVERYTHING. She booked our museum tickets, bus tickets, and hotels. Anything she couldn’t book ahead of time, she gave us detailed directions on how to do it when we got there, and this was all BEFORE we even landed in Spain! When we actually arrived, Sarah met us at our hotel and gave us our folder with everything we were going to need for the trip. We felt so much more confident as tourists knowing we had Sarah we could call for help. The trip went so smoothly, and not worrying about the logistics let us truly relax and take in the sights and the culture. We felt like we had a true local and genuine experience in Sevilla and Granada and know that we wouldn’t have been able to achieve that without Sarah’s help!

Sarah booked train and bus tickets for my wife and I for our honeymoon, as well tickets to the Alhambra. Very useful as some of the websites are tricky to navigate for non-Spanish speakers. More than that, she gave us restaurant and sightseeing tips throughout our itinerary (Madrid, Seville, Granada, Barcelona) and even gave us a last-minute pointer to a very intimate flamenco show one night in Seville! Professional and efficient service, and a good person to boot! We recommend her without reservation…no pun intended.

My husband and I just returned from Andalucia, where we celebrated our 30th Anniversary and enjoyed everything this area of Spain had to offer. We worked with Sarah Gemba to plan our trip. She is a gem and an absolute delight to work with. From start to finish, our experience working with Sarah was excellent. She took the time to learn about our interests and preferences, and created an itinerary that aligned with our goals. Sarah was very reponsive. She communicated with us throughout the planning and while we were in Spain. We even met for coffee, which was an absolute delight! She anticipated every need and was always one step ahead, confirming and checking in while there. She also went above and beyond, arranging little extras throughout the trip to mark the celebration of our anniversary. The trip was spectacular! Everything was in order and went without a hitch. It was so nice not having to worry and knowing Sarah was a call away if needed. We recommend Sarah without reservation and are already talking with her about our next trip.

Sarah Gemba is the Fairy Godmother of travel! After over a decade of international travel with small children, I only wish we had thought of enlisting a travel agent earlier! Sarah found a flying route that had never occurred to us on our own, and it was both easier and less expensive than our usual trip. She was helpful every step of the way – noticing when our seat selections inadvertently split up our family, and calling the airline herself to correct the seating configuration because we were busy packing. She was friendly and efficient and it was an absolute pleasure to work with her! Sarah is a wealth of information about travel to and within Europe, and we are all grateful for her professional services, which definitely took the stress out of travelling. We can’t wait to have her wave her «magic wand» for our future trips. Thank you Sarah!

Sarah worked seamlessly with me to put together a wonderful trip to Andalusia.

Sarah filled in the blanks of our vacation in Spain. As we wanted to spend time in Valencia during the Fallas Festival, and to see the Gaudi architecture in Barcelona, she pulled together our tours, flights to and from Mallorca, our rental car and all our pick-ups and drop offs in various places. She was available to guide us to restaurants, local sites and such. She connected us to Andres in Valencia and Albert in Mallorca, both top historical guides for their city who we consider our friends. We enjoyed each of them so much. In Barcelona, she selected Mariona, an expert on Gaudi, who took us past the lines and gave us facts and answered our questions with ease. We were over the top thrilled with the personal care Sarah gave us, and it made our trip to Spain so pleasurable, full and memorable.

We spent a week in Spain to visit our daughter who was studying abroad. Sarah was great. She guided us to fabulous hotels, organized day trips with knowledgeable and wonderful guides and took care of our transfer and transit needs. She will help you and you will love your trip more because of it.

My husband and I normally arrange everything ourselves and this was our first experience with a travel planner. Sarah was awesome and now I'm spoiled. I can't recommend Sarah enough. We were a party of eight with four kids between 3 and 11, FYI. Two of the most amazing things about using Sarah is that 1) she arranged childcare so the adults could experience some of the late night dinners without the kids (the kids loved the sitter, BTW), and 2) having reservations at amazing restaurants really made every dining experience enjoyable! Also, we didn't have to wait in long lines to buy tickets, as ours were already purchased. This was the first time we travelled to Europe with our daughters (3 and 5 yrs old) and we were worried that it was going to be more work than enjoyable. But, we think this is our best vacation ever! I credit that to Sarah and her planning. Sarah was great to work with and very responsive to our questions and comments.

Sarah proved to be a godsend during our trip to Spain at the beginning of March 2020. She helped set up our itinerary, train reservations, tickets to various venues and found us delightful places to stay. Then, when disaster struck and we had to cut short our trip due to COVID-19, Sarah deftly rerouted us to Bilbao and got us a flight returning to the US at the last minute. We were so very grateful that the flight home, instead of being pricey and chaotic was easy. I cannot recommend Spain Savvy highly enough!

We traveled to Spain with assistance from Spain Savvy for the second time this summer, and I cannot say enough good things about their service. We initially hired them for help designing an itinerary for our large and diverse group, and that service alone really has made an enormous difference in both of our recent trips. Not only does Spain Savvy help find unique and memorable experiences tailored to your group, they also put it all together for you - tracking down operating hours, purchasing tickets and/or making reservations, even details like where to catch a shuttle or rent a stroller - in addition to booking transportation and lodging. This means, when you get there, that you don't find out that the museum is closed on Tuesdays or that you needed to order the paella at the best restaurant in town 24 hours in advance. So helpful! And, their great service just continues from there. They use an app to organize your itinerary, so you have all of your planned activities, reservations, tickets, maps, boarding passes, etc., at your fingertips, organized by day. It could not be more convenient. Sarah and her partners are super responsive, and they are there to assist once you arrive in-country, as well. This year, in particular, Sarah helped us navigate various COVID19 testing requirements and travel restrictions as we moved across the country, and also made same day travel adjustments for us with our airline when we got in a jam. I have and will continue to recommend Spain Savvy to anyone traveling to Spain and Portugal!

Personalized attention and care at its best. Sarah and her team are truly wonderful people and put together an amazing travel experience for our family which included children/teens. If you are thinking about traveling to Spain do so through SpainSavvy. When our initial flight was delayed and we missed our connecting flight, Sarah was there to reschedule our hotel transportation. She kept us up to date on every detail and her company utilizes an App for your mobile device. I loved that App! Daily itinerary, hotel accommodations, transportation (car, AVE, airplane tickets), museum entrance and tours all easily accessible on my phone.  Her recommendations were perfect for our family. These included a family photo session, private museum tours with guides and a food tour to name a few. The kids and adults loved it. This lady loves Spain and her travel families and it shows in everything SpainSavvy does. Thank you Sarah!

In starting a five-week trip traveling through Spain as a family of five (with three kids under age 7), I realized I needed support and ideas from an expert! Although initially I was doing all the research and planning myself, it was taking up way too much of my time and sanity to try to do all the research and set up the lodging on my own. I reached out to Sarah from Spain Savvy, and right from the start, she was super communicative, helpful, and on it. She provided us a terrific itinerary - with great options for our kids, our food needs (one vegetarian in the group), comfortable lodging in great locations, interesting restaurants and stops we would never have been able to find on our own (and making all reservations for us), and outstanding tours (kids' tour in Barcelona, and a kid-friendly tour guide for the Alhambra in Granada). We had some blips along the way due to weather and timing, and Sarah was always there, checking in and offering her help. She even went beyond our scope and offered ideas for our time in Seville (which we had already booked in advance). I'm convinced - working with Spain Savvy made our trip smooth and outstanding. It's so worth working with someone like Sarah who is knowledgable, warm, and has great finesse in coordinating. Highly recommend.

After our wonderful experience in Spain last year, there was no question that we would once again turn to Sarah as we were making plans to visit Portugal. Sarah created a very well thought out itinerary for our sixteen-day trip which included travel by train and rental car. The hotels and food recommendations were fabulous and the two food walking tours we did in Lisbon and Porto provided us with great insights to the history and cuisine of these two great cities.I highly recommend Spain Savvy to anyone who is contemplating travel to Spain or Portugal. My friend and I went to Spain and our trip planning occurred just over a month before departure. We planned some things to see in Barcelona on our own and we were also treated to some amazing sights by my friend's colleagues in Barcelona. But once we left Barcelona, we decided we wanted to travel to the Basque region to visit the Rioja Wine Country, Guggenheim in Bilbao and San Sebastian. Neither of us had been before nor did we have time to do the necessary research and booking. I researched who might be able to help us and Sarah with SpainSavvy is who we decided on. Sarah's reviews helped us make that decision and she came through for us by helping us create a great itinerary! The trip went fabulously, barring a few minor hiccups - but hey, when you travel those situations happen! Sarah quickly addressed the minor issues quickly. Just a few suggestions that did not impact my rating but is food for thought as you plan: 1) Really think about what your days will look like - we had high hopes of going out to lunches and dinners to experience high quality meals. We made some but didn't make all the reservations that Sarah made for us. We let Sarah know our cancellations in advance, but we were probably a bit over zealous in what we thought we would do in an day. She will book anything for you, but please be cognizant of cancellation times; 2) I would recommend catching an Uber that takes a credit card upon arrival versus setting up private transportation. Our experience dictates my comment. Always select the currency for the country you are in, not where you live when you make transactions; 3) Consider train travel times when you decide on how long you stay in one location. Sarah gave us some good insight but I don't think we factored all the moving around in our overall itinerary. Don't get me wrong.....we did and saw what we wanted to see, but it was a busy schedule!Overall, I was very happy with the itinerary she developed per our desires of what we wanted to experience. She connected us with fabulous, top notch tours that I truly enjoyed and Sarah is very responsive! So if you are planning a trip to Spain, Portugal or Morocco, talk to Sarah and have her plan a trip that meets your expectations in every way!

My wife and I were recently in Madrid on business and sought out Sarah online to assist with extending our trip once the business was completed. Sarah did a superb job customizing our trip to our interests and budget. She helped to arrange hotels, train transportation, tours and made many suggestions of points-of-interest and wonderful restaurants. I particularly liked the iPhone app Sarah used which contained an itinerary for each day with attached tickets and vouchers. It also gave general information about traveling in Spain that was very helpful. Sarah’s hotel choices were spot on with price and location. We even scored an upgrade in Granada. Though we now reside in the United States, we have lived overseas for many years and have worked with many travel agents. Sarah is truly one of the best. We would highly recommend her services.

I was a co-organizer for a group of 19 friends who converged in Barcelona for a 10 vacation in-town and in La Rioja wine country holiday. Over the ~8 month lead time up to the trip, Sarah was super responsive via email and WhatsApp. She handled the logistics beautifully and was super flexible. Then, once we were in Spain, she and her team adapted wonderfully to the social unrest which followed the sentencing of the separatists. They made a great decision to have all 11 of us leave Barcelona one day early for, without that decision, we would not have been able to travel to Lagroño. I rarely leave reviews and, for Sarah and her team, I will. Highly recommended and would absolutely book with her again!

Spain Savvy enriched my husband’s and my travel by ensuring guides around the cities and countryside were knowledgable and pleasant. All restaurant recommendations were based on their own personal dining experiences so we enjoyed authentic regional cuisine at reasonable prices. All hotels were within walking distance of sites we most wanted to visit. By booking ground, train and air transportation for us from city to city and hotel to hotel, we were spared the stress of navigating on our own.Because the groundwork for our trip was so meticulously planned we were able to relax and enjoy interacting with the people of Spain, learn about the country’s history, admire the unique styles of art and architecture (both ancient and modern) and savor fabulous food and drink. And even though we have returned home to the Estados Unidos, we have fabulous memories of Madrid, Barcelona, Granada, Ronda and Seville to last a lifetime.

I have traveled to Europe almost every year during the last two decades. This was the first time I decided to seek outside to maximize our cultural experience. Spain Savvy, and its owner, Sarah Gemba, made our experience so much more enriching than my wife and I ever hoped it could be. All of the tours we went on were conducted by supremely qualified guides who genuinely enjoyed there craft. I would and will recommend Spain Savvy to everyone who plans to visit Iberian Peninsula. Thank you Sarah for taking care of us like old friends.Edward & Denise Katsnelson

I worked with Sarah and her team from Spain Savvy for nearly a year on a trip to Spain for our large group (16) of friends and family. Her communication was always on point and as you can imagine, creating a personalized experience for that many people could have a great deal of diversity. Our’s did and Spain Savvy handled it. We arrived in Barcelona the weekend just before the Monday announcement of the Catalan separatists prison sentences. As most know, the demonstrations got violent and extremely intense. We were all staying in a house in Barcelona city center and Sarah and her team strategized and made a plan to get us out of Barcelona a day early so our party could go to Rioja without getting stuck in Barca. Imagine doing that for a large group? Well, they did it. She got us to Castelldefels into a nice hotel that took all of us. This location was just outside the chaos and allowed us to head out the next morning to Rioja. They made this happen within just a few hours. They saved our trip essentially. I am retuning to Spain soon with just my wife and I and I will absolutely be in contact with Spain Savvy for that trip! The tours and guides were really excellent! Everything from casual tapas tours to super unique winery tours. They covered it. On more than one occasion I could see that people were watching us with envy as we lunched or snuck off into a place that they couldn’t get access to. Lastly, Spain Savvy is up on technology, their app with our personalized itineraries made no need for papers and folders and all of that stuff. It was super easy. Bottom line, extremely cool and all pro!!
