Some Ideas for a Magical Trip to Morocco

Aït Ben Haddou and Dades Valley (3- 4 days route)

The kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou, an impressive architectural complex, has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site. The ksar, a group of earthen buildings surrounded by high walls, is a traditional pre-Saharan habitat. After having a traditional lunch, visit the Dades Valley, that includes Dades and Togha Gorges, in the valley of the roses, that provides some of the most spectacular scenery of the south of Morocco.

Merzouga and Zagora (4 – 5 days route)

Merzouga is the gateway to the Sahara desert. After sleeping in a riad and having lunch at a local kasbah, you will take a magical dromedary ride through the desert, arriving at your ultimate Oasis destination in Erg Chebbi. You will sleep in a traditional luxury haima camp in the desert under the stars! Then watch the sun rising over the dunes as you make your way back to the edge of the desert on the back of a dromedary. After visiting nomadic villages en route, you can rest at the heart of the Drâa oasis.

Ourzazate and Agadir (3 – 4 days route)

Choose between the many options Ourzazate has to offer: Waterfall, Dades River area, Valley of the Roses, Todra Gorges, Boumal Dades, kasbahs, etc. Spend the night at Le Temple des Arts, which combines luxury, hospitality and the world of cinema. Then enjoy Agadir, one of the most popular tourist cities of the Atlantic coast of Morocco. Visit of the Kasbah, Promenade, Grand Mosque and, to the souk to sail the labyrinth of stalls and buy souvenirs.

Essaouira and Marrakesh (4 – 5 days route)

Essaouira is a painter’s dream location, with a vibrant blue-and-white “medina” enclosed by fairy-tale, sand-colored ramparts and imposing stone gates. Archaeological research shows that it has been occupied since prehistoric times. The city is also a center for the arts in Morocco – chock-full of art galleries, craft stalls and restaurants and pubs with live music. Without a doubt an inexcusable stop for lovers of music and art. In Marrakesh take an extensive tour of it’s fascinating medina followed by a cultural visit to the picturesque Majorelle Gardens.
