Spain Savvy is a full-service travel agency focussed on incoming services for North American travelers in Spain, Portugal and Morocco. We design personalized itineraries including all kinds of touristic services, from transfers to hotels to specialized visits and activities. We focus on sustainable and creative tourism, with an aim to show our clients the real and authentic Spain. Spain Savvy is spearheaded by an American expat who has been living in Seville for over 15 years and has extensive experience in the international tourism sector.
We have decided to offer au pair programs for young Spanish students in the United States in order to meet growing demands of our client and social network. Our American clients with families would love to have the enriching experience of hosting a young Spanish person in their homes to help care for their children. Our Spanish neighbors and friends look for these kinds of opportunities for their young adult children to travel to the USA and improve their English with the support of a loving host family. Both parties wish to have the opportunity to participate in a mutual cultural exchange and seeing how Spain Savvy is in a unique position to make that happen, we are pleased to offer our services as a “bridge” for these kinds of intercultural programs.
There was an invaluable peace of mind in having a live-in au pair instead of coordinating babysitters: when I left the house for a work event, my children had no emotional transitions – they could continue playing with someone they loved, who truly felt like a member of the family. As a mother of 3, and a small-business owner, I never have enough hands – having our au pairs integrated into the family also meant having a constant extra set of hands for all the little details.Their presence deeply enriched the lives of our children – they learned new Spanish words and songs, and had a slice of another country’s culture embedded into their daily lives. And I too enjoyed exchanging cultural details and food.It was so much FUN to see our neighborhood through the eyes of someone from another country. All the little details seemed to glow brighter under the au pair’s enthusiasm and everyone in the family enjoyed showing her the things that made our town feel special.
